Joseph emigrated to New York and opened a gym with his wife, which he shared with dancers and acrobats, who became his main students.

MindBody Pilates was founded by our Director, Venecia Hernández, who has inspired the promotion of the Pilates method for over 9 years.

Joseph Pilates stopped teaching in New York in 1966; however, he continued to develop his work based on a strong personal experience in fitness.

Joseph Hubertus Pilates was born in 1883. The creator of the Pilates method, he was one of the most important figures in physical and mental development.
